I believe that politician can be only made honest by increasing there wages and there should some minimum qualifications or say entrance test like bias (which is nearly impossible).so that only good and creamy people can handle the system.

There can’t be increase of their wages because most of the politicians do earn much than anyone by shortcuts except few honest ones. There can be made some strict rules for entering into politics, as you said, entrance exam might be useful. The fact is most of them are illiterate and even don't know the basic of computers. There have been honest politicians without even basic knowledge of education. Still they proved their efficiency in bringing up our country and doing good things. But nowadays everything is changed. In short the field is traveling towards dangerous path. To make it strict, some strict rules must be brought up in future.
Should there be a retirement age for politicians?
Every job comes with a retirement age. But the job of being a politician doesn’t. In fact, for politicians it is said-- the older the better!

I don't really agree with this. If the politicians really do serve the country it would be better. But in current world they are trying make their whole family enter into the field using the powers as like in very ancient days. I feel youth can perform the role much better than the old.

Yes certainly, if a govt. employee can hold the office up to 60 years, why should politicians who had responsibility to run our country allowed to serve even after the age of 75

Hi friends. Yes their should be a retirement age for politicians because when we are young we will be having interests in change, creativity etc. As we grow old, the first problem is we will get one or other disease. So its good if they look after themselves rather than our country. I agree that old people are more experienced, but what’s the use of it when they cant travel much, can’t take much stress. Keep a young politician and let the politicians who are in that field for long time help these young ones.

It will be better if the politicians leave a way for the youth if they feel that they can’t work for the country further. They being the senior leaders can guide the youth by being aside. But actually the politician’s don’t care for the development of country. Instead they want to cheat the people and to make money. For the welfare of the country every one must realize this and should make use of the youngsters in politics.

Yes, the retirement age is required for the politicians. The retirement age may be around 65 - 68 years not more than that. Because the employees after retirement, can participate in the politics and serve for the country.
It is also true, that the age will bring maturity; hence the retirement age must be well above the normal retirement age of employees.

Yes I very much agree with fixing a retirement age for politicians. If an age limit is there then youth will have a chance of entring politics. As it is the jobs for youth is shrinking day by day. Youth is diverting themselves to wrong options in life but If an opportunity is given to today’s youth they can do a better job as they know the problems faced by them as they are in it and are affected by it.
There is a retirement age in all the jobs and this is fixed by government itself then isn't it ironical that they dint do the same for the politicians who an integral part of government.
It’s been generally seen that many people after retirement change their field to politics. Is it justified? mean if the government thinks that at a particular age an individual will not be able to do his job with the same efficiency then how can he be accepting politics and expected to work with the same zeal as the youth.
In my view this topic needs a serious attention.

yes I am totally agree with you because government has decide the retirement age per the medical science, because after 60 year people have less energy to work and also they decrease their memory power and also loose control taking decision so if this rule practice for every job then why not for politicians also so that new generation can come to this field and they can also use some innovating ideas to develop the nation

I agree with you. Retirement age has been in all the fields and why should not there be a retirement age in politics. It should be.
So that we can get youth in the politics with new thoughts and the aggression in doing the good things for the country. For older people they may affect with disease and lost their strength. Even their walk and talk is also slow comparatively to the youth's speed. So the Old politicians should pave the way to the youth to do politics.
They may also give suggestions to the youth if they are in need.

politics is not a company or organization, it is a community and it need experience, so if we want better future we need assistance of our elders, may be they are very old but we can't do anything with there assistance, i know India is in need of good youth in politics like rahul gandhi, but he is also respecting their elders for development

I totally agree with you. Politicians should also have their retirement age. Otherwise the younger generation will hardly get chance. And the younger leaders will be more interested in the welfare of the country. And some of the politicians are too old to look after themselves in that case they have to elect younger ones

I agree with you that we should seek the guidance of elderly people but only guidance as they are not capable for running around so the politicians should be young and their advisors can be older but then there also a line has to be drawn so it becomes important to have a retirement age whether more or less in all areas.
